Outpatient Programs Overview
Our outpatient services are designed to offer help to those seeking solutions to their psychiatric or emotional issues as well as to those living with substance abuse problems. Each program provides a comprehensive array of therapeutic activities for those individuals that need more intervention that weekly outpatient sessions can provide but that are not in need of hospitalization.
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a full-day treatment program in which our therapists provide a variety of group therapies intended to improve coping skills, identify dysfunctional behaviors, and enhance the patient’s overall quality of life.
In addition to focusing on the disorders of Depression, Bipolar, Anxiety, and Schizophrenia, our team of PHP clinicians also offer therapeutic interventions that help individuals cope with a variety of secondary disorders that include but are not limited to:
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorders
- Post Traumatic Stress(PTSD) symptoms
- Chronic Suicidal Ideations and Gestures
- Intermittent Explosive Disorder
- Eating Disorders
- Coping with Chronic Pain
Individuals seeking PHP are those needing more intensive treatment than regular outpatient services but are not in need of hospitalization though our psychiatrist may suggest medication as a way to manage symptoms. We take a Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic approach that focuses on areas such as:
- Relapse prevention for substance abuse (if applicable)
- Managing Anger, Fear, and Sadness
- Positive Affirmations
- Identifying and Implementing Coping Skills
- Restructuring Cognitive Distortions
- Assertiveness Training
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a half-day program incorporating the same treatment components as PHP for individuals that need more assistance than weekly counseling sessions can provide but do not require the intensity or structure of a full-day program. For patients with chronic psychiatric conditions and/or substance abuse, the IOP format is ideal.
